What You Can Expect
We work closely with you and your child's previous setting to create a transition plan that suits your child’s unique needs.
Here’s how we support you and your child:
Getting to Know You
We’ll invite you to a meeting with our team to talk about your child’s strengths, needs, and what helps them thrive and work collaboratively with other professional that have been on your child's journey.
School Visits
Your child will have the chance to visit the school, meet their new teachers, and explore the classrooms in a calm, friendly way.
Personalised Transition Booklet
We’ll create a booklet with photos and simple information about the school to help your child feel familiar and comfortable.
Regular Updates
We’ll keep in touch with you throughout the process, sharing how things are going and listening to any concerns you may have.
After They Start
Once your child has joined us, we’ll check in with you to see how things are going and make sure they’re getting the support they need.
We’re here to walk this journey with you—every step of the way. If you have any questions or would like to talk about your child’s transition, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Transition To Secondary
Starting secondary school can be a difficult time for young people. Therefore, we plan this time carefully to support children with the transition and to ensure it is as smooth as possible for each child so they settle in to their new school.
Information to support transition will be uploaded to support the pupils and their families. We hope you find this useful.
